Traditionally, turning protocols have only focused on patient turn frequency. Leaf provides a more effective way to assess and manage pressure injury prevention efforts by accurately measuring turn frequency, turn angle, and reperfusion time and combining them into an Integrated Positioning Index™ (IPI). The index is the first tool that precisely measures the effectiveness of patient turning and can be used to help reduce the risk of pressure injuries.

Real-time Patient Status and Visual Notifications
A digital timer indicates the time remaining until a turn is required, as per the patient's prescribed turning protocol. A simple color bar is recognizable at a glance and is used to indicate a patient's mobility status. Green is all-good, Yellow means an action is coming up, and Red indicates an intervention is due.
Detailed patient mobility history is at your fingertips.
A right click on any patient information line provides access to important historic patient activity data. Recent turn history helps ensure even pressure distribution. Upright history shows % of time above a desired head of patient angle. Ambulation history documents a patients'progression toward their mobility goals. Detailed patient reports itemize every mobility event for the patient's entire stay and are an invaluable tool as part of any root cause analysis.

Recent Turn History
Easy to access turning history shows the patients position and length of time for each of the last 20 turns. This information can be used by caregivers to help determine what side to turn the patient on next so that even distribution of pressure over time is ensured. Additionaly, it's an accurate real time electronically measured source for patient turning and repositioning documentation.
Ambulation History
Recent Ambulation History
As soon as a patient leaves their bed or chair, the Leaf system temporarily suspends the patient's turn protocol and begins monitoring and documenting steps taken, distance traveled, time spent ambulating and number of ambulation events. Care providers can use this information to track a patient's progress toward reaching their mobility goals and adjust care plans accordingly.

Leaf Sensor
The wireless, disposable sensor attaches to patients using an industry-leading, medical-grade adhesive. Simply remove the adhesive backing and place the sensor on a patient's upper chest. The sensor automatically turns on, recognizes when it is attached to a patient, and monitors the patient's position and activity.
Leaf Antennas
Leaf antennas can be plugged into any available wall outlets. The antennas automatically self-assemble into a wireless mesh network, which is highly redundant to ensure data integrity. The patient sensors will automatically communicate with antennas that have the best signal strength to optimize data transmission.
Leaf Dashboard
Patient data can be viewed on desktop computers, tablets, or smartphones. The dashboard provides useful information at a glance, with patient turn priority and actionable items clearly displayed in a manner that avoids contributing to nuisance alarms and alarm fatigue.

Continuous Monitoring
Patient position and activity data is automatically routed to the nearest Leaf antenna. As a patient moves throughout the hospital, their data is seamlessly transmitted through the Leaf Mesh Network in order to provide uninterrupted patient mobility monitoring throughout the care environment.
Secure and Redundant
A series of relay antennas forms the basis of the systems wireless mesh network. This mesh network provides highly redundant data transmission that is faulttolerant. Data is encrypted and securely transmitted using a proprietary wireless protocol.
Flexible Viewing Options
Patient data can easily be viewed at a central monitoring station or on mobile platforms (i.e. tablets, smartphones). System administrators can view data for specific patients, individual units, or even the entire hospital from virtually any web-enabled computing device.
